Under Pressure

Egads do I have a lot of work to do. I'm so used to working on teams and dividing up the work. Although I didn't love the team I had at school this past year, I miss those days where we could divide up the work between the 10 of us. Now I can only depend on myself to do all this work! I have to update the business plan of the coffee cooperative and I really need to make it useable for them because they need to be financially independent in 2 years. What pressure!

Now I am procrastinating momentarily as I write this to take a break from it. My eyes hurt from staring at the screen and my head is pounding from straining to think of different ways to phrase more eloquent sentences in Spanish with my functional but limited vocabulary. I'm a bit stressed in trying to figure out the finances of the organization while making adequate projections for the future. I'll be working til the bone until I have to give a presentation next Wednesday to the Junta Directiva or in English, the Board of Directors of the coffee cooperative. Yikes! And in Spanish!

Then listen to this crazy schedule next week:
Wednesday: Present my findings to the Junta Directiva in the AM. In the PM travel 4.5 hours to the capital and stay there overnight.
Thursday: Travel to San Jose, Costa Rica in the AM. Present my findings to the area and regional directors of EDE Consulting and the director of a coffee research organization. Also in Spanish! Ugh! Stay in San Jose overnight.
Friday: Travel back to Guate City in the PM and stay there overnight.
Saturday: Travel back to the Chicago in the AM! Phew!

Mia is coming to the village tomorrow and then Thursday we are travelling to Honduras en route to the Bay Islands for relaxation on the beach this weekend! Except, I have to do a lot of bloody work still to do!!! I think I'll be pretty burned out by the time I get back to Chicago. And if you want to know why, just read all my blog postings since I first left Chicago a year ago. Well, wish me luck that I get all this work done...and do a good job of it!
